Earlier this year, NFL Hall of Fame Running Back Emmitt Smith – together with former Naval Academy Football player, a current officer in the United States Military, turned NASCAR Driver Jesse Iwuji, announced the formation of a new NASCAR team.

The team looks to inspire others to go after their dreams. The team also looks to break barriers for drivers who might never have thought opportunity existed for them in the world of competitive racing. As Emmitt Smith says, “We want to create a pipeline of people who have potential, but don’t have a pathway to get there . . . We want to create opportunity for others.” Iwuji echoes that sentiment and looks to help minorities see themselves represented in the sport as well as create a space for those transitioning out of the military and looking for a potential new career field. Crucial to this mission are partners who exemplify a passion to help others be their best. Enter Equity Prime Mortgage (EPM) – whose motto is “Empower People More.” EPM’s business model hinges upon the idea of service to others by enabling people from all walks of life to achieve the American Dream of homeownership – or for Emmitt and Jesse, starting a race team.

When executives at EPM heard about the formation of Jesse Iwuji Motorsports, CEO Eddy Perez knew that sponsoring the team aligned perfectly with what his company stands for. As an official sponsor of Jesse Iwuji Motorsports, Perez said, “At EPM, we are thrilled to join Jesse Iwuji and Emmitt Smith as a founding partner of the Jesse Iwuji Motorsports race team. Jesse leads the charge with breaking barriers in NASCAR, but Jesse also leads by example with his service to the American people as an active officer in the military. Perez explains, “We can achieve anything when we unify through collaboration.”

While many companies claim to support military and diversity initiatives, Emmitt and Jesse love EPM because they actually do – they put their money where their mouth is. Iwuji maintains that because of EPM’s involvement and other partners, “2022 is going to be the year for all those who were told they can’t; it’s the year that dreams turn to reality.”

Prior to the start of the season, look for more announcements to be shared about the team manufacturer, team number, and team alliances as well as more founding partners with the team. EPM will be a Primary on the race car for 8 races in 2022!

A note to the members of the media, next week on the 16th of December at noon EST, Emmitt, Jesse, and CEO of EPM, Eddy Perez will hold a virtual press conference for the media that will be live-streamed.
